Alissa Baltodano

Postpartum Doula

Alissa is a Certified Postpartum and Infant Care Doula with a passion for supporting moms through some of the biggest moments in their lives and it is her hope to support and empower you and your family through this next journey.
Like most new moms before her, Alissa learned about her needs and those of her babies the hard way.  Reading books and taking advice from others was all she had as she journeyed through each unique pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience of her own two littles.
While that might be the end of the story for some, Alissa was determined more than ever to learn how she might be able to serve others while sharing her experiences and being the best mom, she could be.  With that goal in mind, Alissa left her promising corporate career behind and started her pursuit of early childhood and parent education.
After obtaining her basic and advanced Early Childhood Education at UCLA, Alissa began to serve as both an early childhood parent educator and lead teacher for a local cooperative preschool.  At this school, the social and emotional needs of the littles always come first, which is why Alissa has remained passionate about working there for the past 19 years.
Through her time in early childhood education, Alissa has also received training in multiple disciplines including Brain Gym, Parent Effectiveness Training (PET), Parenting from the Heart, and Early Childhood Development in Reggio Emilia, Italy.
She loves to garden and loves kids.  In fact, her favorite type of gardening is helping moms with the seeds they have planted, being by their side to watch them sprout and working together to help them bloom.
Alissa brings an awareness and tenderness for those who need and deserve spiritual, physical, and emotional care during this time.  This is not a luxury, but a necessity that all women need and deserve.

Casey Rovetti

Postpartum Doula, Lactation Education Counselor, & Registered Dietitian Nutritionist

Casey is a Postpartum Doula, Lactation Education Counselor, & Registered Dietitian Nutritionist that is passionate about helping new mothers to not only survive the postpartum period, but to emerge from the fourth trimester feeling replenished, strong, and confident.

As the mother of two young children she has come to understand that the saying “it takes a village” isn’t just referring to raising children, it is also about supporting women during their transition into motherhood. After the birth of her first daughter it didn’t take long for me to realize that in our society, support is lacking and you often have to build that village yourself. She believes that supporting other mothers during this transformative time is what I was meant to do.

As a nutritionist, who loves good food, she found it exceedingly difficult to nourish both herself and her family after the birth of her children. On one hand she knew that she needed to rest in order to give her body the opportunity to heal after birth, but on the other hand the nutritionist in her was anxious to fill her body with nourishing foods to fuel that recovery. Finding the time and energy to feed herself when it felt like she was spending 15+ hours a day feeding her baby was next to impossible. Needless to say she had a lot of stressed out, tearful moments in the kitchen and found herself feeling defeated and depleted. This dilemma is what led her to begin working with postpartum mamas and their families. She believes that every mother should have someone to care for them the way she wished someone would have cared for her. Someone to metaphorically (and sometimes literally) wrap you up in their arms and nourish your body, mind, and soul. Acts of service are her love language and she looks forward to being able to serve you and your growing family.

Postpartum Support Team: About Me

Holly Kohlmann

Full Spectrum Doula

My name is Holly Kohlmann (she/her), I am a wife, mother, and passionate educator. I am also queer and love fairy tales (I’m sure you can guess where the Mama Goose came from). I found a passion for babywearing when I had my daughter and connected with my local babywearing group. It grew into something more when I saw the lack of car seat education available and realized I could better serve my community by offering these services to parents and caregivers locally. In 2019 I became a  postpartum doula and began supporting local families in a more in depth capacity. I recently added Birth Doula to my repertoire and am excited to be able to support families at birth and beyond. I believe finding the perfect shouldn’t be a fairy tale and all birthing people should be supported.
My trainings include:
   •    Postpartum Doula with Cornerstone Doula Trainings
   •    Trained Babywearing Educator with Center For Babywearing Studies
   •    Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (Car Seat Tech) through Safe Kids Worldwide™
When I’m not providing postpartum support and education to families I can be found camping with my little goose and exploring southern California with my spouse.

I started my journey as a nanny, specializing in newborn care, I offered support to the whole family. While working as a nanny I realized there was more I wanted to do to help mothers, especially during postpartum that is why I decided to educate myself more in this area. I started by doing my Postpartum Training through CAPPA, I also became a Certified Newborn Care Specialist through Newborn Care Solutions and a Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant.

As a postpartum doula, I provide emotional, physical and informational support during the postpartum period, Model infant care, support and assist with infant feeding, Educate families with newborn care and characteristics. My main goal is to always encourage bonding between family members and to fully support the parent's goals for your baby.

As a Newborn Care Specialist my focus is exclusively on babies. I can help with everything related to the baby's needs. Help you find your ‎rhythm‎. I answer all the questions related to babies you might have.  Together we can make  a routine that works for your family so you can feel empowered to take on motherhood with all the right tools. I also  support the family's goals when it comes to helping babies sleep through the night without assistance. I implement sleep conditioning techniques.
